A period between 1950 and 1970 where superhero comics took off but were restricted by the Comics Code Authority which drove comics towards more fantastical removed stories to avoid rebuke. This focus led to lots of strange and wild character designs as the writers and artists embraced the challenges these implemented rules forced upon them.
